Ely Valley Bowls club play at the Ely Valley Miners Club at the bottom of Mill Street in Tonyrefail and provide lawn bowls for members and anyone in the community wishing to play the game from April to October. They meet socially for fundraising and keep in touch throughout the year. The outdoor bowling green was founded in 1928 by miners of Coedely.

A community sports club associated to Basketball Wales competing in the South Wales League at ages under 10 through to under 18. They meet on Monday (5pm-8pm) and Friday’s (5pm-9pm) at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre in season.
Due to Covid19 they are currently training outdoors on the multi-use games area at Tonyrefail Lower School on Saturday’s 11am to 3pm. All sessions are socially distanced, skills and conditioning training only, and attendance must be pre-booked. For further information contact the club secretary.
