You may have seen the recent installation of a new wind turbine on the hill above Coedely. This is a 2.5MW turbine that is the pilot project of Ripple Energy who have developed an innovative cooperative ownership model for it. In addition, the turbine will provide funding for action on fuel poverty in the local area – it is expected that in the first year of generation this will be about £130,000. The turbine is expected to start generating power in February 2022 once the grid connection is completed.
