NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OF DATE FOR THE EXERCISE OF ELECTORS’ RIGHTS

Financial year ending 31 March 2020

Date of announcement: –   16^TH August  2020

Each year the annual accounts are audited by the Auditor General for Wales. Prior to this date, any interested person has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts etc. relating to them for 20 working days on reasonable notice.  For the year ended 31 March 2020, these documents will be available on reasonable notice on application to: –

at The Council Office, Trane Cemetery, Gilfach Road, Tonyrefail, CF39 8HL

 between the hours of   11.00 am and 1.00 pm Monday – Friday

commencing on 1^st September 2020 and ending on  28^th September 2020

From 29^th September 2020 until the audit has been completed, Local Government Electors and their representatives also have:

• the right to question the Auditor General about the accounts. The Auditor General can be contacted via BDO LLP, Arcadia House, Maritime Walk, Ocean Village, Southampton, SO14 3TL; and
• the right to attend before the Auditor General and make objections to the accounts or any item in them. Written notice of an objection must first be given to the Auditor General via BDO LLP, Arcadia House, Maritime Walk, Ocean Village, Southampton, SO14 3TL.  A copy of the written notice must also be given to the council.

The audit is being conducted under the provisions of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004, the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 and the Auditor General for Wales’ Code of Audit Practice.

 

Tonyrefail & District Community Council provide small financial groups to not-for-profit community organisations. These grants are not available for individuals or commercial organisations. The closing date for applications is 31st August 2020.

The Community Council would like to try and feature more community groups on our website here. If you would like your group to be listed in order that more people can find out about you then please drop us an e-mail to office@tonyrefail-cc.gov.wales with the details that you would like to share.

The Cemetery remains open to the public, with vehicle and pedestrian access as per the usual opening hours. However, we are still busy with burials, in particular between 11am and 3pm.

The toilets will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

The water taps on site are still switched on, however visitors are advised against their use as we can not guarantee who has used them in between cleaning.

We respectfully ask that you take your rubbish home with you to help the cemetery operatives’ workload.

Numbers for burials remain restricted to 10 people.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS

Please help us by following the below guidelines so we can continue to keep the cemetery open.

•  Pedestrian Access Only – 10am to 7pm daily
• Do not use the on-site taps
• Take all rubbish home with you
• Please keep your distance from others & Cemetery employees

Please reconsider your Palm Sunday visit, and if possible come another day to ensure that social-distancing can be maintained at the Cemetery.

When visiting, please bring your own water as not to touch the taps, take your rubbish home with you and be aware there is no vehicle access on weekends, and no toilets available.

The Council Office is closed in order to minimise the risk of employees contracting COVID-19.

We have also taken the decision to close all public toilets at the cemetery in order to minimise any risk to employees as the cemetery toilets do not have hot water.

Currently all burials will be going ahead as planned, however mourners are requested to follow distance guidelines.

Trane Cemetery will be open to vehicles on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March between 8am and 1pm. The pedestrian gates will remain open until 7pm.

NOTICE OF ELECTION COEDELY HYSBYSIAD O ETHOLIAD COEDELY

Please note that this notice was published on www.tonyrefail.cc on 10th March.

We have been informed by RCT that a footpath between Treferig House and Pantyddrainan Farm has been closed with immediate effect due to a bridge defect possibly caused as the result of the poor weather conditions. The bridge will be closed to allow for inspections and repair work to be carried out. The footpath could be closed for around 6 months depending upon the scale of the repairs needed.
